It's a challenge for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, plus another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the peak baggers, are what's still available for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowlers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's challenging for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the chance.

In the end, the outcome of Australia allowing 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy being given an opportunity to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has witnessed all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her debut and seven international trophies have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She ensured her country would not fail again.

If this recent magnificent innings exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Certain people claim the case for the pressure of a final. Some might respond with the test that comes when facing a record target and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this century was far harder to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because I feel like my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the contest."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her major advantage - and an invaluable trait in replacing legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the young fast bowler in every game, but on this occasion it simply offered Healy's inspiration.

A single came off the bowler's initial ball and from there the batsman was on her way.

"The possibility to take the field and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 as she flogged anything short, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

Once she was dismissed the team needed 66 additional runs at run per delivery - an achievable target now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it again but, should it happen, we are confident we can achieve it."

That comment will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has grown stronger - this triumph following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a meeting with traditional opponents England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

It was at that stage they left last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a match Healy couldn't play because of damaged tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the first time at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she later admitted those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is expected to be her concluding event as leader in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured an international tournament as leader.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her last major obstacle.
